A section of Garlington Road will be closed this weekend, weather permitting.

Weather permitting, work on Garlington Road will continue this Saturday and Sunday with a closure from just north of the Lowe’s entrance at The Shops at Greenridge to the General Electric site.
Garlington Road will be closed to through traffic on Saturday (June 6) and Sunday (June 7) between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. to allow installation of stormwater drainage near the bridges of I-385. Drivers wanting Garlington Road from Woodruff Road will be detoured along Woodruff Road to either Roper Mountain Road (Woodruff westbound) or Feaster Road (Woodruff eastbound) then to Garlington Road. Drivers wanting Garlington Road from Roper Mountain Road will be detoured to either Woodruff Road (Roper Mtn westbound) or Feaster Road (Roper Mtn eastbound) then to Garlington Road. Businesses within this section of road will still have access to their properties from the road (Roper Mtn Rd or Woodruff Rd) closest to their establishment.
Drivers are asked to obey speed limits, follow all traffic control, and be mindful of workers in the construction zone.

On Wednesday, 5/13/20, Greenville SC - Construction workers on Garlington Road struck a gas line Wednesday around 10:20AM. The sound of the escaping gas was audible outside the 1063 WORD studios across the street. Work was stopped and traffic was briefly detoured in both directions.
Construction was stopped, workers were evacuated and traffic was briefly detoured in both directions. Just before 11AM Piedmont Natural Gas crews arrived and shut off the gas and began efforts to repair the line. Traffic flow has returned to normal on Garlington Road.
