Pedestrian killed in Anderson

The Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision involving a pedestrian in Anderson County. It happened Friday night just before 10PM on US Highway 76, also known as Clemson Boulevard.

As the pedestrian was attempting to cross the road, a vehicle made a sudden stop to keep from hitting the pedestrian in the road.

The driver of a 2019 Chevrolet pickup truck swerved to avoid colliding with that vehicle and struck the pedestrian.

That pedestrian was then struck by the driver of a 2014 Toyota traveling in the opposite direction.

The pedestrian died at the the scene. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.

The collision remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
