Governor Inslee laid out a list of guidelines for restaurants to reopen in Phase 2 of the state's plan. Here are the bullet points:

1. Restaurants will operate at 50% capacity

2. No more than 5 people at a table

3. No bar seating

4. Single use/ disposable menus

5. (Here's the big one) Restaurants must collect personal info from dinners.

Yep, you're going to need to give the restaurant your email address, phone number, and arrival time if you want to dine in. Everyone must be logged in as individuals, not a party. Looks like there won't be any secret rendezvous for a while.

The state is still working with the restaurant industry to develop a set of protocols for using this information. In Seattle, we're still at least a few weeks away from Phase 2.

Now you know.

UPDATE: Governor Inslee has revised the guidelines for restaurnats to reopen.  Restaurants will no longer be required to gather personal info (email addresses and phone numbers) from dinners.  It is now optional, dinners can give that information for the purpose of contact tracing if they want.  Sure, here's my social security number too!
