As we binge through Community before bed every night, it feels like perfect timing to get a press release from the Seattle Center telling me that actor/comedian Joel McHale will be officiating weddings in the Chihuly Garden and Glass with the massive Space Needle looming above as your witness!
To be clear this isn't something we're putting on, so we have nothing to do with it, but after seeing so many people's plans dashed by a pandemic, this just seems cool. Check out the press release:
"SEATTLE, February 3, 2021 – Chihuly Garden and Glass is giving away a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to eight Washington couples who are ready to tie the knot. Now through February 6, couples can submit their love story for the chance to win a wedding ceremony in the Glasshouse officiated by actor and comedian Joel McHale. The micro-wedding ceremonies will be held on February 13 and livestreamed so their loved ones can safely watch the happy couple say, “I do.”
Following the ceremony, each couple’s honeymoon begins with a trip to the Space Needle where they will enjoy a toast and photos on the Observation Deck while looking out over Seattle. They will then be whisked away to the Sheraton Grand Seattle where a deluxe room awaits. The newlyweds will receive dinner and wine delivered to their door by Ethan Stowell Restaurants, along with a wedding gift basket, which includes roundtrip travel for two courtesy of Alaska Airlines."
Here's to the happy couples! More info, and again, I have nothing to do with this, so check out their rules before you jump in.
