(610 Sports) The Royals released their 60-player club pool for summer camp on Sunday, which is set to kick-off this Friday, June 3rd at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals 60-player pool includes the 40-man roster and an additional 20 taxi-squad players. There were no real surprises on the roster, even if some had hoped to see the Royals' 2020 1st round pick Asa Lacy. The team instead chose to include lesser-known players like Matt Reynolds, who is a utility infielder that can play shortstop, a position where you need a major league ready backup but also two shortstops on the taxi-squad for exhibition play.

Although not household names, relief pitchers Heath Fillmyer and Brandon Shipley also appeared on the roster, possibly keeping Lacy off at this time. Fillmyer and Shipley are 26 and 28 years old, so the club isn't ready to cut ties with them just yet and chose to gave them a shot, knowing Lacy isn't going anywhere and will have plenty of time to develop.
