CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Kansas City Chiefs receiver Sammy Watkins caught some attention for a response on Twitter Sunday night to playing the Browns this weekend in an AFC Divisional playoff game.

During the Browns’ 48-37 win over the Steelers, Watkins tweeted, “This is a video game wth is going on this is weird I’m speechless pretty sure the whole world is shocked bc I never seen anything like this in my life not in the NFL.!”

After a user responded “Looks like we got some comp next week,” Watkins fired back “I wouldn’t go that far lol..!”

It’s the type of comment that Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield lives for but Wednesday he downplayed it when asked during a Zoom video conference with reporters.

“I have no problem with it to be honest with you, because if you don’t have confidence, you’re not going to have success,” Mayfield said. “And those guys have been doing it together for a few years now. They have a ton of confidence in each other and so people get mad when you put it out there, you put it up for bulletin-board material, but I don’t have a problem with it.

“It comes with the nature of this game that you’ve got to be confident and you’ve got to know and believe in yourself.”

Last week Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster insulted the Browns by calling them “nameless gray faces” with “a couple of good players” and dropping a “Browns is the Browns” when talking about his excitement about facing them at Heinz Field on Wild Card weekend.

Mayfield yelled, “Browns is the Browns” as he ran to the locker room following their first playoff win since 1994.
