The NFL is apparently implementing a minimum salary cap of $180M per team in 2021, according to reports.
However, the figure is not final and could still be increased, according to a Thursday memo from league officials to all 30 club teams.
The previous 2021 cap floor -- agreed upon by the players' association and the league last summer in an effort to "address operations during the pandemic" -- was set for $175M.
The cap minimum in 2020 was $198M, so it appears likely that a decrease of some measure is in the offing for next season.
The memo cites both 2020 revenues and projected 2021 attendance as factors in formulating the new cap number.
