(670 The Score) At long last, we can finally turn our attention to the on-field product in MLB.

After a long and contentious labor negotiation, MLB will conduct a 60-game season with Opening Day set for July 23 or 24. Players will report to their home stadiums for spring training 2.0 by July 1.

The truncated season could change the competitive dynamic significantly. A three-game losing streak in a 60-game season is roughly the equivalent to an eight-game skid in a 162-game campaign. One bad stretch could knock a perceived contender out of the playoff race. The prohibitive favorites won't have as much opportunity to assert their muscle.

Of course, the favorites are still the favorites. As the season gets started again, here's a look at the championship odds, per BetRivers. Locally, the Cubs are 22-1 to win the World Series, while the White Sox are 30-1 to win the championship. The Cubs are 11-1 to win the National League pennant, while the White Sox are 15-1 to take the American League title.
