(670 The Score) The Bears on Wednesday placed guard James Daniels on injured reserve after he suffered a season-ending pectoral tear in a win against the Buccaneers last Thursday.

Second-year offensive lineman Sam Mustipher was promoted from the Bears' practice squad to replace Daniels on the active roster.

A second-round pick of the Bears in 2018, Daniels has played in 37 games and made 31 straight starts on the team's offensive line. He was converted to center prior to the 2019 season but switched back to left guard midway through the year.

Alex Bars, a second-year offensive lineman out of Notre Dame, is likely to step in for Daniels at left guard. He replaced Daniels during the game last Thursday. Reserve guard Rashaad Coward is also a candidate to replace Daniels, Bears offensive line coach Juan Castillo said.

The Bears (4-1) visit the Carolina Panthers (2-2) on Sunday at noon.
