David Montgomery Active For Bears' Opener

Montgomery returned to practice in full earlier this week after dealing with a groin injury.

(670 The Score) After dealing with a groin injury, Bears running back David Montgomery is officially active for the team's opener at the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Montgomery returned to practice in full earlier in the week, a strong indicator he would be ready to play. Montgomery suffered the injury in practice on Aug. 26 on a non-contact play in which he slipped.

Bears linebacker Khalil Mack is officially active after dealing with a knee issue. Linebacker Robert Quinn (ankle) is inactive. Defensive lineman Mario Edwards, receiver Riley Ridley, tight end Eric Saubert, offensive lineman Arlington Hambright and defensive back Duke Shelley are also inactive.

Lions top receiver Kenny Golladay (hamstring) is inactive.

Kickoff between the Bears and Lions comes at noon Sunday from Ford Field.
