Chicago activated defenseman Connor Murphy off injured reserve Monday, the team announced. He had been out since Feb. 7 with a right hip injury. In another move, the Blackhawks placed defenseman Lucas Carlsson on injured reserve with a groin strain. The designation is retroactive to Friday, and Carlsson is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 14 days, the team said.
Murphy has five points (two goals, three assists) in 13 games this season. Carlsson has appeared in 10 games for Chicago.
In other news, forward Dylan Strome was held out of practice Monday while in the concussion protocol.
