(670 The Score) The Blackhawks have placed captain Jonathan Toews (medical issue) and center Kirby Dach (right wrist) on long-term injured reserve, keeping them out at least 10 games and 24 days.
Toews has been away from the Blackhawks since announcing in a statement on Dec. 29 that he has been dealing with an undisclosed medical issue. Dach suffered a right wrist fracture during the World Junior Championships on Dec. 23 and was ruled out for four to five months.
Additionally, the Blackhawks announced defenseman Brent Seabrook will remain on injured reserve due to a lower back issue.
The Blackhawks opened their new season with a 5-1 loss to the Lightning on Wednesday night in Tampa.
