(670 The Score) Kris Bryant will be back in the Cubs’ lineup when Chicago visits the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday evening, manager David Ross said on the Laurence Holmes Show. He'll play third base and hit second in the order.
Bryant has been sidelined by a finger injury since Aug. 17. He was officially placed on the injured list on Aug. 22, retroactive to Aug. 19. He hurt himself while playing left field and attempting to make a diving catch in a game on Aug. 12. Bryant was also affected by wrist and hand ailments.
“He’ll be in there today,” Ross said. “We got him back. He’s feeling good.”
Cubs outfielder Steven Souza Jr. will also return after suffering from a hamstring injury, Ross said.
When Bryant has played, he has struggled for almost the entire season. He’s hitting .177 with two homers, four RBIs and a .594 OPS in 16 games.
