(670 The Score) Friday officially marked Theo Epstein’s last day as the Cubs’ president of baseball of operations, as he stepped down and general manager Jed Hoyer was promoted to replace him as the top baseball executive in the organization.

On Epstein’s final day, the team released a video thanking him for the work he did. It ended by noting, “You redefined what it means to be a Cubs fan.” In Epstein’s nine-year tenure, the Cubs made the playoffs five times, won three National League Central crowns, advanced to the NL Championship Series three times and broke a 108-year drought by winning the World Series in 2016.
