(670 The Score) The White Sox have the MLB saves leader in 2020 on their radar as they look to fill their closer’s role this offseason.

Chicago is among the teams expressing interest in lefty reliever Brad Hand, Jon Heyman of MLB Network and Radio.com Sports reported Wednesday. Hand's 16 saves with the Indians led MLB in the shortened season. The White Sox need to fill their closer’s role after Alex Colome hit free agency. Colome remains a free agent as well, but the White Sox are casting a wide net as they consider their options. They’ve also expressed interest in closer Liam Hendricks, who had a 1.78 ERA and 14 saves for the Athletics in 2020.

Hand, who will turn 31 in March, had a sensational 2020, posting a 2.05 ERA and 0.77 WHIP while striking out 29 batters in 22 innings. He was an All-Star in 2017, 2018 and 2019 and carries a career 3.65 ERA. His a 2.92 ERA or better in four of the past five seasons.

The White Sox have plenty of competition in the Hand sweepstakes, as the Dodgers, Blue Jays and Mets are among the other clubs to express interest, according to reports.
