Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – Doc Rivers gave former Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue his stamp of approval before Friday night's game in Cleveland. Lue was fired six games into the season and has dealt with health issues, but he's put those behind him and is eager to coach again.

"He wants to get back in for sure and he deserves to be back in," Rivers said. "He's doing great (health wise). That's the most important part for him and even though he would never admit it, maybe this happened at the perfect time for his health and I'm serious about that. We all need to do better in that category."

Rivers added Lue in an informal role to help the Clippers in December, who have overachieved this season. He was with Los Angeles for a short time and has been doing a lot of traveling according to Rivers.
There have been rumors linking Lue to the Los Angeles Lakers. Obviously, he coached LeBron James and the Cavaliers during their 2016 championship run. Some believe the two could reunite in Los Angeles. Current Lakers head coach Luke Walton isn't expected to stick around, so it makes sense that Lue has been linked to Los Angeles.

Lue played for Rivers for a brief time with the Orlando Magic. He was also Director of Basketball Operations for the Boston Celtics from 2009-2013. Rivers was the reason Lue got the job.
