The NBA’s opening night appears to be set.
The Brooklyn Nets will open the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22 when they tip-off at the Barclays Center against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania
The Nets-Warriors will be the first of an opening night doubleheader on TNT, which will also feature the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers square off against intra-city rival Los Angeles Clippers.
All eyes will likely be on Kevin Durant in the first game, as he makes his debut with the Nets and returns to the court for the first time since tearing his Achilles in the 2019 NBA Finals. It seems fitting that Durant will play his first game back against his former team, who he helped lead to two NBA Finals titles.
The full regular season schedule for the NBA has yet to be released, but in addition to the opening night games the Christmas Day slate was also leaked on Tuesday night.
