Steph Curry did not waste any time in silencing his critics over his early season struggles.
The Golden State Warriors star exploded for a career-high 62 points against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday night, in a 137-122 victory following a 25-point loss to Portland just two nights earlier.
Entering the game, the Warriors were just 2-3 and there was some chatter that Curry was not the same player anymore, especially without fellow stars Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant surrounding him.
The 32-year-old obviously heard some of this, and after the last loss, Curry said he “took that personally,” quoting Michael Jordan.
“You know the Jordan meme, right?” Curry said to reporters. “I take all that personally. Just an opportunity to kinda assert my will on the game early and create some energy and get off on the right foot.”
Curry had more to say on Instagram, too.
“Tonight was fun! Sometimes you don’t have to say anything,” he wrote underneath a photo of himself with the net cut out hanging over his face. “Stay present, stay in the moment…Have fun. All glory to God.”
Even Curry’s brother, Seth, chimed in on Twitter with a laughing face emoji.
