So far, so good. It's early, but after a Summer League Championship with Brandon Clarke leading the way, enter Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. to start the 2019 preseason schedule with a win over Maccabi Haifa. Final: Memphis Grizzlies 123 Maccabi Haifa 88  (attendance 10,515)

Haifa, a professional basketball club from Israel, was led by James Young with 31 points.

For Memphis, it's not expected to be a walk in the park like this every game. Jaren Jackson Jr. had 19 and Grayson Allen had 18 points. Both Dillon Brooks (16 points) and rookie guard Ja Morant (10 points/7 assists) looked of solid young core stars.

NEXT PRESEASON GAME: Tuesday (10/8) vs. RJ Hampton (who was considering the University of Memphis this year) and his new overseas pro team from New Zealand, the Sky City Breakers.
