Geoff Calkins is host of The Geoff Calkins Show on 92.9FM ESPN/680 AM and is the former lead sports columnist for The Commercial Appeal and current columnist at The Daily Memphian. After over 20 years of entertaining and challenging Memphians in print, on the radio and on TV – Geoff Calkins is a fixture in the Memphis community. He's been named best sports columnist in the country three times. He's won five Green Eyeshade awards as the best sports columnist in the South. He's a perennial winner in The Memphis Flyer's best columnist category and was named best sports television personality by Memphis Sport Magazine for his work on WKNO-TV. Not bad for a guy who graduated from Harvard and Harvard Law School and then decided the legal business was not for him. Calkins is not a newcomer to 92.9, having been a part of an afternoon show with Gary Parrish for more than five years. He's continuing to contribute to that show and in 2016, published his book, After the Jump, chronicling the two most exciting and transformative decades in Memphis sports. After the Jump features Geoff’s wise and witty insights on the people and moments that have been part of this change, both within the world of sports and beyond. Calkins has three boys and two large, shaggy Bernese Mountain Dogs.
