DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will officially interview for the Eagles head coaching vacancy, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday.
There had been speculation about whether or not Moore would take the interview after he agreed to a three-year extension earlier this month to remain in Dallas.
Even if Moore wasn't interested in taking the job with the Cowboys' biggest rival, it only made sense for him to accept the request. At the very least, the interview will prepare him for his future head coaching interviews, should he receive any more, of course.
Should Moore not get the Eagles job, he'll go right back to work on helping to improve the Cowboys offense in 2021. This time, with Dak Prescott (likely) back in the fold.
Moore, only 32-years old, has coached with the Cowboys since 2018. He started as the quarterbacks coach before becoming offensive coordinator in 2019. The Cowboys were sixth in points in 2019, and even after losing Prescott for the season, they finished a respectable 17th in 2020.
