Sam Ayomide Onu, a 7-foot, 260-pound 3-star Class of 2021 center, has committed to Penny Hardaway and the University if Memphis. Originally from Nigeria, Ayomide Onu is a senior at The Phelps School near Philadelphia, Pa. He chose Memphis over offers from Kansas, Seton Hall and Providence.
Memphis' 2021 recruiting class moves from No. 11 to No. 3 with the addition of Ayomide Onu. Memphis has now picked up three commitments in two weeks with Ayomide Onu joining Camden and Nesbitt in committing to Memphis.
The Tigers will begin full practice Wednesday ahead of the start of the 2020-21 season, which is slated to begin Nov. 25.
