Pete Fiutak: CFB audience annoyed with Bama-Clemson IV

Pete Fiutak, publisher of College Football News, previews the national championship MOnday on The Miday Show with Rick and John.

Fiutak told us Bama-Clemson IV has a whole school of problems with the average watching audience, but reminded us that the previous two times they played for a national title it was a very competitive game. Fiutak mentioned how Clemson doesn’t have a national following because nobody knows where Clemson is. Bama is just a machine that keeps rolling, and people have seen it before.

Fiutak weighed in on Trevor Lawrence versus Tua Tagovailoa in the championship and said they are both comparable quarterbacks with the exception that Tua already has a ring. Fiutak thinks the Clemson defensive line is on a mission tonight against Bama to win a national championship. He agrees that Dexter Lawrence will be missed tonight, but they will be fine without him as the rest of the line steps up.

They touch on UGA and Fiutak thinks Kirby Smart is in an amazing place even though he had a bump with Justin Fields. But he still has Jake Fromm. Smart is losing players to the NFL, but he is still recruiting a great deal of talent for next year. Fiutak also gives credit to the UGA fans for be gracious to Justin Fields and wishing him well in the future.

Finally, Fiutak thinks Bama wins tonight but doesn’t cover the spread, but wouldn’t be shocked if Clemson wins, but just doesn’t think it will happen.
