Felix Hernandez shined throughout spring training for the Atlanta Braves, and yesterday was no different.
The 33-year-old veteran allowed one run on four hits, two walks and two strikeouts in four innings of work in his third start.
In total, Hernandez has been chargesd with two runs on seven hits with a 2.08 ERA in 8 2/3 innings in his first three outings in Braves spring training.
Could Hernandez be this year's Josh Donaldson?
Last year, you had expectations for Donaldson because you paid him $23 million for one year but you really didn't know what he was going to be. He was coming off a calf injury.
He turned out to be better than we hoped for.
Hernandez, signed was signed to a one-year minor league contract and will make $1 million is he makes the opening day roster. He's seemingly already locked up a spot. It's a great deal for the Atlanta Braves. He also recently dealt with a right shoulder injury.
Both Felix and Donaldson are award winners. Hernandez is a six-time All-Star and 2010 Cy Young winner. Donaldson a three-time All-Star and 2015 AL MVP.
We'll see if Braves general manager has hit another homerun in the offseason.
