The Atlanta Braves have been finding a way to get the job done ever since Mike Soroka went down for the season with an Achilles injury.
They currently sit atop the National League East at 16-12, two games ahead of the Miami Marlins. Max Fried has been the lone bright spot in the Braves' starting rotation. He is 4-0 with a 1.32 ERA, and has really taken on the "ace" role in Soroka's absence.
Paul Byrd, of FOX Sports South, joined The Jon Chuckery Show Monday and talked about whether or not Brian Snitker should try to get Fried more starts. Byrd isn't necessarily a fan of that notion because he thinks Fried might not be ready for that physically.
"If there is an off day, I like coming back with Max," Byrd said.
They have been fortunate enough to be the best team in the NL East almost halfway through the season. We will find out how the Braves feel about their starting rotation on Monday, August 31 at 4 p.m. when we see if they took part in acquiring talent for the postseason run.
Let the trade rumors begin.
