The Braves have already lost one of their premier players for the season after a tough-to-watch injury. Now, players and fans are praying that they haven't lost another for an extended period of time.

Mike Soroka's Achilles tear ended his season in early August, and on Friday night, another injury left the team holding its collective breath. All-around star Ronald Acuña fouled a ball directly off of his ankle and went down immediately.

He was looked at by trainers for a little while and eventually helped off. It appeared as though he was unable to put any weight on his left foot, though that may also have been a precautionary measure.

With ace Max Fried recently placed on the IL along with new addition Tommy Milone, the Braves are struggling in the health department. Entering Friday night, they held a 2.5 game lead over the Phillies in the NL East with a 26-18 record.

Acuña leads the National League with a 182 OPS+, posting a very strong slash line of .286/.440/.667 and clubbing 11 HR to this point.

UPDATE: Acuña's x-rays revealed no fracture and the Braves are labeling Acuña day-to-day.
