Saints, not Falcons, hoping to make Jameis a game-manager

The Falcons-Saints game took a hard left in the second half of the Saints win over the 49ers when Drew Brees was knocked out for the remainder of that game with multiple rib injuries that will force him to miss at least this week as well.

With Jameis Winston expected to slide into the starting role, and a healthy serving of Taysom Hill as well, there are questions to be asked about the Saints offense and the risks they are expected to take with a QB who threw 30 interceptions last season, the 30th a memorable one for Falcons fans.

Former Saints RB and current Saints Analyst Deuce McAllister joined John and Hugh on Friday morning and discussed his views on what sort of play-making the Saints will ask of Jameis Winston and how much they could use Taysom Hill.

"They just want the QB to be a distributor and game manger," says McAllister. "You don’t have to have a heroic effort to be successful and to some extent that’s how they feel about Drew Brees. They just don’t want the QB to lose it for them."
