On Friday, teams from around the Atlanta metro were in action in key region match ups. The Tucker Tigers hosted the Lovejoy Wildcats in Georgia High School Association Class 6A Region 4 action as the Tigers looked to keep pace with region leader Westlake, who they trail by a game, North Atlanta, who currently sits in the second place position. Lovejoy meanwhile, looked to score their first region win of the season.

Despite a scrappy start that saw the Wildcats take a 6-3 lead early in the first quarter, the Tigers would close out the opening period on a 21-2 run to take a 24-8 lead heading into the second quarter. The Tigers would only build upon their lead from that point, as they began to press Lovejoy, who struggled most of the night trying to break the Tigers' pressure. At one point, Tucker led by as many as 50 points and would go on to win by a final of 74-40.

Tucker's Christian Yeates would finish with a team high, 17 points while his teammate, Raylen Barrion would add 15 points in the Tigers win. The Tigers improved to 4-1 in the region standings and still remain a game behind Westlake.
