PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Steelers coach Mike Tomlin met with reporters Tuesday afternoon to put a wrap on the 2019 season.

It is the second year in a row Pittsburgh has missed the playoffs.

Tomlin says he expects more clarity on Ben Roethlisberger’s recovery from elbow surgery by the first of February.

He did say that Mason Rudolph is the backup.

Tomlin when asked about possibly hiring a coach to work solely with the quarterbacks said.

“In terms of the division of labor from a staff standpoint a quarterback coach being one of them, I’ll evaluate as I assess the staff and how we work . . . I’m not opposed to that thought process,” said Tomlin.

Tomlin also kept the door open for other coaching changes in the offseason.
