PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Sidney Crosby wasn’t on the ice with his Penguins teammates again today, but skated on his own before practice, according to coach Mike Sullivan.
Crosby had been sidelined since Saturday.
Practicing with the main group for the first time since camp opened were winger Patric Hornqvist and defenseman Juuso Riikola.
They were among the 9 players isolated from the rest of the squad last week as a precaution.
Hornqvist said after practice on Wednesday, “It felt great to be back, it’s always fun to see the boys and battle with them.”
Hornqvist said the difference between this training camp and a regular one is how intense this one is since it leads right into the playoffs.
Chad Ruhwedel said Hornqvist’s presence on the ice was instantly noticeable.
“You always know when he’s on the ice, in the locker room, vocal guy, he’s a good guy to have around all the time so we love having him back,” said Ruhwedel.
