PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - NHL on NBC Analyst Keith Jones joined the Cook and Joe Show to offer his thoughts on the Pens surprise season after dealing with some many injuries and the mock cheers in Sunday's game for Matt Murray.

"Hopefully a turning point for him," Jones said. "Maybe the fans did him a favor to push him to the next level."

Jones added that that it could be a win win for the fans who have the right as a paid ticket customer to voice their displeasure of a player not performing and a win for Matt Murray who may be motivated by it.

He also was happy to see how the Pens players responded defensing their guy and seeing Matt Murray bounce back.

As we know the Pens have been dealing with many injuries all season including Sidney Crosby for 28 games so was Jones surprised that the Pens were able to keep it together?

"This has been a resilient bunch," Jones added. "Hats off to the Penguins...Best story in the league this year especially with absence of Crosby."

Jones says Sid in his mind the best in the game .
