PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - With Major League Baseball and the MLBPA finally coming to an agreement on starting the 2020 season, Pirates starter Joe Musgrove joined The PM Team to talk about what he did during the down time and what he thinks about all the changes made for this season.
Musgrove is known as one of the better hitting pitchers in the league but will no longer get to show off that side of his game as the designated hitter is now coming to the National League. Asked about not stepping up to the plate this year, Musgrove voiced his frustration.
"I'm really going to miss it," Musgrove told us. "I think everybody growing up, no one was all that excited to get a chance to pitch on the mound. Everyone wanted to hit...I grew up with that same love."
Musgrove also shared how he stayed in shape during the quarantine.
"We had my garage turned into a little home gym," Musgrove said. "I was steps from the beach, so we were doing beach workouts for our cardio and footwork and speed and agility stuff, a little bit of everything man. Trying to have a little bit of fun with our training while we could."
