Hanging on multiple levels of the left field rotunda are three banners that read “Black Lives Matter” and a fourth with the Pirates’ and MLB logo.

Teams across the league have been addressing the Black Lives Matter movement and social justice on their opening day by carrying a fabric of unity by both teams, kneeling during the National Anthem, and wearing patches on their jerseys.

Players and coaches have also been wearing Black Lives Matter shirts during practices or press conferences.
