PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Following The Wolf administration’s recommendation that high school sports be postponed until January First, the PIAA will meet Friday to decide if fall sports will be played.
On the Fan Morning Show, WPIAL Executive Director Amy Scheuneman said she doesn’t understand why some sports cannot continue as scheduled.
“That can call be done safely and in a manner that is socially distant in most cases so that you’re not having a high probability of infection,” said Scheuneman.
She adds that delaying fall sports until the first of the year will create scheduling challenges and that they favor a schedule that allows students to participate in all of the sports they intend to.
I can tell you from a WPIAL standpoint we’re going to push to allow all sports to happen in some capacity, not sure what that would look like right now, but we’ll defiantly working toward that solution,” said Scheuneman.
