The Steelers finally have a win under their belt as they head into another divisional matchup this Sunday, this time against the Baltimore Ravens.
Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack of The Fan Morning Show are here to break it all down for you in their weekly “Three Point Stance.”
Colin firsts looks at the Wildcat formation that was so successful against the Bengals last week. Was it just a one-time thing? Will James Conner and Jaylen Samuels be able to come back to this throughout the season and in this week’s game or has the well already run dry? Lamar Jackson has been dynamic through the first four weeks of the season. The Steelers/Ravens game has traditionally been a hard-hitting affair. Will Jackson make it through the game healthy with his style of play or will he be at least gun shy to take hits?
Finally, Diontae Johnson has now put together two games in which he has scored long touchdowns and seems to be doing everything right outside the fumble on the first drive in Cincinnati. Is Johnson becoming prior seasons’ JuJu? Is he benefitting for the attention being toward Smith-Schuster and not him?
Chris wonders if this will be the week Mason Rudolph is allowed to test a secondary and throw the ball down the field. It’s nice to see high completion percentages but if the Steelers want to diversify their offense without having to rely on the Wildcat, Rudolph has to improve in his league-worst average length of completion.
Will we see continued improvement from the Steelers’ inside linebackers, Mark Barron & Devin Bush, or will they be spending too much time trying to chase down Jackson? They showed up big against Cincinnati, but do they repeat that performance against Baltimore. Finally, the offensive line showed major improvement last week as well. Does that carry over to Sunday? Mason Rudolph needs some time back there, and this is a much better defensive front. Are they up to the task?
All of that and more on this week’s edition of 93.7 The Fan’s “Three Point Stance.”
