Charles Barkley, once again, went off on the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night calling them the "softest team" and the "Cleveland Browns of the NBA."
"I picked the Sixers to get to the Finals. I think they are the softest, mentally weakest team that had a bunch of talent," Barkley said before Thursday's Sixers-Bucks game on TNT. "They are the Cleveland Browns of the NBA. They got a lot of talent and they talk the talk and that's it."
Despite picking them to reach the Finals, Barkley reversed course in December when he declared Philly has "no chance" at reaching the Finals, and ripping into Joel Embiid.
The Sixers went on to lose 112-101 to the Bucks, their fourth straight loss and fifth in their last seven games. Joel Embiid went 6-26 from the field, still dealing with a wrapped up hand as he continues to heal from a fracture. Since returning to play with a wrapped up hand that is clearly affecting him at least to some degree, Joel Embiid is 33-78 from the field (42.3%) and 29-42 from the line (69.0%), both well below his career averages of 47.8 FG% and 79.3 FT%, respectively.
Philly is back at it Friday night, at home against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies.
