Report: ACC Will Allow Fake Crowd Noise This Season

Piped in noise will replace the real thing for at least the first 3 games of Pitt's season at Heinz Field

According to reports the ACC, will allow artificial crowd noise during football games this season.

That means for at least the first month, Pitt will have piped in noise during home games at Heinz Field.

ACC beat writer for the Richmond Times-Dispatch says North Carolina coach Mack Brown made the announcement during a Zoom call on Monday.

It was announced last Friday that fans will not be permitted in the stands at Heinz Field for Panthers and Steelers games for at least the first month of the season.

That means Pitt’s first three games will be without fans. September 12 against Austin Peay, September 19 against Syracuse and September 26 against Louisville.

It should be noted Pitt also plays October 3 against N.C. State and it’s unknown if at least some fans will be allowed in the stand by then.
