Report: Steelers/Titans game to move on as planned, could be played Monday

The Titans may have to play without practicing

According to a report, this Sunday’s Steelers/Titans game in Tennessee is scheduled to move on as planned for now.

NFL Network’s Judy Battista says “Source tells me the league intends to play the Titans-Steelers game as scheduled. No announcement on the game's status is expected today, but the league is taking it day by day.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reports the intention is to play Sunday, but “one of the contingency plans to allow for additional testing and contact tracing to occur would be to move the game to Monday night, per source.”

Speculation surrounding this Sunday’s game began earlier on Tuesday morning when eight members of the Titans organization tested positive for coronavirus, 3 players, 5 staff members.

Tennessee’s practice facility is currently closed until Saturday, with NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reporting Titans coaches have told players they will play on Sunday without practicing if they have to and will hold a walk through on Saturday. “No excuses.”

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell released a statement to all NFL teams to make sure they are keeping up with protocols.
