It may be the most important holiday of the year. Who's been more influential in your life than Mom? But like everything else in our world right now, celebrating Mother's Day this Sunday will look a little different than it ever has.

There are still ways to make it special though, and a Mother's Day meal is high on the list. I found some great meal suggestions for Sunday from restaurants all over the place. So while you won't be able to treat Mom to a fancy brunch in a booth at a chi-chi restaurant, you'll definitely be able to wow her with some elegant cuisine and -- bonus! -- takeout lends itself perfectly fo breakfast in bed.

I like Eater Seattle's list -- Where to Get Mother’s Day Meals for Takeout and Delivery in Seattle. Their Seattle-centric list suggests Serious TakeOut, the Ballard-based offshoot of Serious PIe from iconic restaurateur Tom Douglas. There you can order a feast, "with items including shallot mustard and herb roasted bone-in pork chops (or wild Bristol Bay Salmon), scalloped potatoes, Thyme, grilled asparagus, and strawberry-rhubarb pie." Or a vegetarian splurge from Madison Valley's Cafe Flora "with entrees such as spring asparagus quiche and tamales with grilled cactus (kids’ menu options are available for $20). Diners can tack on treats from Fran’s Chocolates, flower bouquets from Alm Hill Gardens, wines, and mimosa or bloody mary kits." Yum.

From The Stranger comes Your Complete Guide to Takeout Specials, Flower Deliveries, and Other Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day 2020 in Seattle. Brunch, dinner, flowers, and even an "Opera-Gram" from the Tacoma Opera, performed on your mother's doorstep while observing safe social distancing.

And speaking of the South Sound, the TNT offers you Mother’s Day, COVID-style: Show your love with takeout or a sweet treat from these spots, including Cook's Tavern in the Proctor neighborhood, offering "a $60 strata package that includes the shareable baked egg dish, a cherry crumble coffee cake, and both a fruit salad and mixed greens."
Treat your mom! 15 great Mother’s Day takeout options in the Seattle area from the Seattle Times gives you takeout options from the Salish Lodge in Snoqualmie to the Cottage in Bothell to Hitchcock on Bainbridge Island.

I hope this helps, and I hope if you're a Mom you feel extra special this Sunday. Happy Mother's Day!
