RADIO.COM's Cadence13 has set a premiere date for the "Almost Famous" chapter of the critically acclaimed "Origins" podcast series.
The show chronicles conversations between award-winning journalist James Andrew Miller and writer/director Cameron Crowe as they speak with the cast about the journey through making the iconic film in honor of its 20th anniversary.
Joining Miller and Crowe are cast members Kate Hudson, Frances McDormand, Billy Crudup, Zooey Deschanel, Jimmy Fallon, Patrick Fugit, and Jason Lee. It will also include casting director Gail Levin, rock photographer Neal Preston, and the real-life inspiration for Penny Lane, Pennie Trumbull.
The cast and other key players will discuss the makings of "Almost Famous" from insiders who were there from the start. They will explore the makings of the film based on Crowe's early life, featuring never-before-told stories.
The podcast will explore the cultural impact of the film as well as its music. Creators and participants of the film will discuss how creating the masterpiece changed their lives.
"Between his personable style, and the exhaustive research behind his wonderful questions, Jim Miller managed to summon all the spirit and emotion of 'Almost Famous' with the original cast," Cameron Crowe says.
"It's a little bit of a magic trick. He put the band back together," he continues.
"Origins" has previously done series on "Curb Your Enthusiasm," ESPN, Nick Saban and Alabama's Crimson Tide, "Saturday Night Live," and "Sex and the City."
"Origins: Almost Famous Turns Twenty" launches on the RADIO.COM app on July 8.
