Bobby Brown is speaking with the public after his son, Bobby Brown Jr., was found dead in Los Angeles, Wednesday.
The former New Edition singer released a statement reading, “Please keep my family in your prayers at this time. Losing my son at this point in our lives has devastated my family. There are no words to explain the pain.” TMZ was first to report the late Brown’s death, after police found Junior’s body inside his Los Angeles home. Counsel to the Brown family say Bobby Brown Jr. was “not feeling well a couple days before his death, with flu-like symptoms.”
Junior’s death comes after a string of unfortunate losses for the family. Bobby’s 22-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive in her Georgia home back in 2015. Bobbi Kristina’s ex-fiancé also died earlier this year. All of this after music legend Whitney Houston was found dead in a hotel bathtub in 2012.

There were signs Brown Jr. was struggling with mental health after the passing of Bobbi Kristina in 2015. The aspiring musician tweeted his frustration in now deleted posts. "People really dont give a f*** about you unless your relevant , and they don't love you till your famous or gone. I don't want these follows," he wrote. "This is real life for me, this is my life, my sister. Not a f***ing trending topic."
Brown Sr. has been quiet on social media in the two days since his son’s passing. His last Instagram post involved an open questionnaire around Thanksgiving. “What are you thankful for?” the text reads.
