Lady Gaga has been tapped to sing the national anthem at the swearing in of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on January 20.

The Biden Inaugural Committee confirmed to Variety that Gaga will be performing the “Star-Spangled Banner” to help kick off inauguration day. Additionally, Jennifer Lopez has been announced as a musical performer at the inauguration ceremony.
Variety confirms additional artists have been booked for Biden-Harris inaugural events, but have yet to be publicly revealed. On Wednesday, a primetime 90-minute broadcast special called “Celebrating America” was announced and will serve as a capstone to the day’s events.
Hosted by Tom Hanks, the event will feature performances from Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and Ant Clemons. President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris are expected to speak during the event.
The special will be broadcast live on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and MSNBC and will be streamed on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Amazon Prime Video, Microsoft Bing, NewsNOW from Fox and AT&T DirectTV and U-verse beginning at 8:30PM ET.
Lady Gaga has been vocal about her support of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the past. Following Biden’s victory in the November 2020 election, Gaga tweeted out “@JoeBiden @KamalaHarris and the American people, you just gave the world one of the greatest acts of kindness and bravery humanity has ever seen.”
“Nothing but love for our new Commander in Chief and the 1ST female VP elected to the White House. Also, way to go PA,” she added.
