Latest on Alshon Jeffery, Jordan Howard, Lane Johnson

By SportsRadio 94WIP

The Eagles badly need a win on Sunday, and to get it, they badly need back a few of their key starters.

The chances of either happening don’t seem high.

Speaking Wednesday at the NovaCare Complex, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson gave an update on receiver Alshon Jeffery, Lane Johnson, Jordan Howard and Nigel Bradham.

Here is the latest on each player:

Alshon Jeffery: Jeffery is expected to take place in individual work on Wednesday at practice, but it seems like he will not be taking part in any team work due to an ankle injury he suffered in the team’s win over the Chicago Bears. If Jeffery is indeed limited, it will be an improvement from last week, when he didn’t practice at all. At this point the chances of Jeffery playing still seem slim.
Jordan Howard: Howard, like Jeffery, is expected to take part in individual work but not in the team drills — the same as last week. The big news is that Howard (stinger in his shoulder) has still not been cleared for contact, which is concerning when you consider he suffered the stinger almost three weeks ago. Howard seems to have a better chance of playing than Jeffery, but it seems 50/50 that he will play.
Lane Johnson: Johnson is still in the concussion protocol and won’t practice on Wednesday. Although Johnson has shown in the past he is capable of playing through injuries, this one will be out of his hands, as he has to pass through the protocol and be cleared to play. The final call will not be up to him. If Johnson does not play, Pederson said that Andre Dillard will be the starting right tackle, a position he has not yet played in a game.
Nigel Bradham: Bradham has been sidelined with an ankle injury, but Pederson said that the linebacker is expected to practice on Wednesday. It seems like Bradham has the best chance to play of all the injured Eagles' players.
