Kyle Shanahan, head coach of the 49ers, has strongly implied that Jalen Hurd tore his ACL on Sunday at practice.

“Still haven’t gotten results yet," Shanahan said on Monday, via, Zoom, regarding the reciever's MRI. "I’d be surprised if it’s not (torn). It’s a pretty unfortunate thing for him.”

Here's the initial report.

#49ers WR Jalen Hurd is undergoing an MRI this morning after suffering what’s believed to be a major knee injury in practice yesterday, sources tell me and @RapSheet. The fear is the test will reveal a torn ACL. Test will tell full story.

Matt Barrows had offered the following real-time observation from Santa Clara on Sunday.

Jalen Hurd went to the ground while working individually on a side field with strength coach. He was on the ground for a few minutes, got up slowly and walked off under own power. Will update when there’s more info.
