Drew Brees is coming through in the clutch off the field.
The New Orleans Saints quarterback and his wife, Brittany, are donating $5 million to build healthcare facilities throughout the state of Louisiana as part of an effort to help out during the COVID-19 pandemic, they announced on Instagram.
“COVID-19 has changed nearly everything,” Brees said. “From the way that we work, to how our kids learn, to the way we play football. As we work through one of the greatest challenges of our lifetimes, our health and wellness has never been more important.
“The Brees Dreams Foundation is proud to commit $5 million to support healthcare in Louisiana.”
The future Hall of Famer added that they are partnering with Ochsner Health to construct the facilities, the first of which will be built in New Orleans East.
“Our family is honored to help break down the barriers and give back to the incredible people of Louisiana,” Brittany added.
It is the second grand gesture Brees and his family have made to support those affected by the pandemic. In March, the Brees family pledged $5 million to help feed the youth and elderly.
