Jimmy Garoppolo will return to the starting lineup on Sunday when the 49ers host the Dolphins at Levi's Stadium, head coach Kyle Shanahan announced during his Friday afternoon press conference.
Shanahan had foreshadowed Garoppolo's return from a high-ankle sprain during his Wednesday press conference when he revealed that the QB and running back Raheem Mostert were set to return to practice in a limited capacity that day.
Mostert (knee), who like Garoppolo was hurt in the club's Week 2 win over the Jets, 31-13, at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 20, is questionable for the matchup with Miami. So too is wide receiver Deebo Samuel (illness).
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who missed the past two games with a quad injury, is also off the injury report and back in the lineup.
The 49ers and Dolphins are slated to kick off at 1:05pm on Sunday at Levi's Stadium.
