With Antonio Brown set to reunite with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay, Jerry Rice weighed on the looming return of the mercurial receiver during his call with The Morning Roast on Monday
“I think it’s going to be good for Tampa Bay because I feel him and Tom Brady have this relationship,” Rice explained on 95.7 The Game.
“And I think he’s gonna add another dimension to that offense because you look at Gronk and what they’re doing on the football field, Gronk and also Tom Brady and the other receivers.”
Brown, who’s deal with the Buccaneers was first reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network and NFL.com, is eligible to return from his eight-game suspension on Nov. 8 when Tampa Bay hosts the Saints.
“Now you bring in Antonio Brown. It’s going to open it up — much more,” Rice continued. “Now, his antics off the field? I don’t know. But I’m hoping his mind is, you know, in the right frame of mind. I’m hoping that, but you never know with Antonio Brown. But, I think if Tom Brady made that call, he feels like this guy can really help the team.”
It’s worth noting that head coach Bruce Arians is claiming that Brady is *not* the architect of this signing:
