Are you or someone you know in need of a turkey this Thanksgiving? The Block is partnering with Food Lion, HealthyBlue SC, and Reedy River Water Quality Group, and The Steve Harvey Morning Show to ensure that everyone is taken care of this holiday.
Our friends at HealthyBlue SC, along with Cherrydale Elementary School in Greenville, the Dr. TK Gregg Community Center in Spartanburg, and the Anderson Institute of Technology in Anderson are helping make sure that the families in these counties have an opportunity to receive a complimentary turkey for Thanksgiving.
Because of the effects of COVID-19, we will not be accepting registrations this year.
For Greenville and Anderson, turkeys are first come, first serve. Show up early and get into the drive-thru line to claim your place.
For Spartanburg, reach out to Wanda Cheeks-Holmes with the City of Spartanburg Parks & Recreation to receive more information about receiving a turkey. She can be reached at 864-809-3007. In addition, The Northside Voyagers will be donating bags of rice and canned goods, which will be distributed as available.

Depending on your location, each approved turkey recipient will need to pick up their turkey within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the event on the respective day. After that, all unclaimed turkeys will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis by the community partners. If you do not get approved for a turkey, you can visit one of the community centers on the dates above for a last chance to claim any unclaimed turkeys at the end of the event.
Please note: By registering for a turkey you are not guaranteed one unless otherwise told so by a representative of Cherrydale Elementary School, the Dr. TK Gregg Community Center, Anderson Institute of Technology, or HealthyBlue SC. One turkey per household.
In addition to our sponsors, thank you to the Greenville County School District, Anderson School District 5, The Zone, and The Northside Voyagers!
First come, first serve. Distribution of turkeys is at discretion of event partners.
