Chrissy Teigen’s night time snacking caused quite a dental mishap this week.
The culprit behind the tooth fiasco? A fruit rollup.
The supermodel made the reveal on social media early Thursday, stating: "I just lost....my tooth...in a Fruit Roll-Up.”
She showed a molar inside of a red Fruit Roll Up in a short video on Instagram.
The 35-year-old later clarified that it wasn’t a tooth but a cap, which is better known as a dental crown.
Teigen attempted to lighten the mood by adding that she "loved” the crown “like he was a real tooth."
Fans attempted to cheer Teigen up by sharing their own molar misfortunes. One user said she lost her cap on a popcorn kernel, while another blamed a chocolate muffin.
Dr. Kami Hoss, an orthodontist based in California, told Insider that frequent visits to the dentist and “routine dental care” can prevent a crown from falling out.
And in the case that a crown does fall off, he urged against DIY remedies and suggested seeing a professional as soon as possible to get it fixed.
"As a general rule, people should avoid doing any DIY procedures to glue the crown back on," Hoss said. "I've seen people using superglue to bond their crowns back,” he added saying it’s “toxic.”
Earlier this month, Teigen showed off her purple hair and a brand new tattoo -- an ode to her husband’s song, “Ooh Laa.”
