ST. LOUIS (KFTK) - The St. Louis Cardinals will not be traveling to Detroit this week and there have been a total of 13 players and staff members test positive for COVID-19 in the last week.

The four-game series between the Cardinals and Tigers set for Tuesday through Thursday of this week has been postponed. The Cardinals will stay in Milwaukee, where they have been in self-quarantine since late last week.

We also now know there have been 13 positive COVID-19 cases among Cardinals players and staff, since last Friday when the first two cases were reported. There are seven players and six staff members part of the team's traveling party that tested positive.

Cardinals president of baseball operations John Mozeliak told media in a video conference that five of the people who tested positive are asymptomatic, but the other eight are showing signs of the virus. He says the team's current plan is to head to St. Louis on Wednesday.

Their next game would be against the Chicago Cubs at Busch Stadium on Friday.

Mozeliak says all of the players who tested positive are already back in St. Louis.
